BLOX & Danish Architecture Centre
This public space on the city’s harbourfront hosts creative and cultural offerings, such as the Danish Architecture Centre (DAC). The BLOX venue has transformed a former brewery and car park into a space for the people, with private homes, a fitness centre, a playground and delightful squares in the surrounding outdoor spaces. The project further connects the Folketinget (parliament) district with the canals, and brings creativity to the water’s existing cultural hub. The highlight of BLOX is DAC, which curates temporary exhibitions that showcase leading Danish and international architects, and explore urban planning and architectural wonders. DAC is also home to permanent exhibitions of Danish architecture and design history. The centre – itself based in a work of architectural art – has a regular turnover of events and weekly walking tours.
The DAC Design Shop offers lifestyle and design products from leading and upcoming Scandi brands. The DAC Café’s three large rooftop terraces give you fantastic panoramas of Copenhagen’s vibrant city life. Here visitors can indulge in elegant New Nordic dishes made from local and organic produce or simply drop in for a drink with a view.
