FREDERIKSBORG SLOT

The first royal palace in Denmark is breathtaking. This makes for a fantastic day away of the city since it is situated amid lovely Baroque gardens and is rife with history.

On this location, Frederick II built the Frederiksborg Slot in 1560. The majority of the castle was destroyed by fire in 1859, and it may have remained a wreck had it not been for Carlsberg CEO J C Jacobsen, who renovated it and helped establish this location as a national history museum. Numerous of Jacobsen’s own paintings, along with others, trace the history of Denmark. A sense of the past is evoked by spectacular architecture and period furniture.
